Decolonial practice

Decolonial practice in art works to expose and undo the lasting effects of colonialism on how art is made, shown, and interpreted. It questions whose histories museums center and whose they leave out, and it favors perspectives long pushed to the margins. The approach has shaped exhibition-making and collection policy across major institutions since the 2010s.
